Welcome to Northwest Eye Plastics

Nicholas J Schmitt, MD

Northwest Eye Plastics is a subspecialty department within the respected Northwest Eye group of doctors. Dr Schmitt joined Northwest Eye in 2005 after completing a fellowship in Oculoplastic, Reconstructive, and Orbital Surgery in Pittsburgh, PA.

Oculoplastic Reconstructive and Orbital Disease is a special area within ophthalmology that focuses on the diagnostic, medical and surgical management of the structures around the eye, including deformities and abnormalities of the eyelids, lacrimal (tear) system, the orbit (the bony cavity surrounding the eye), and the adjacent face.

Conditions treated include dermatochalasis, ptosis, tearing, skin cancer, trauma, and cosmetic aging changes to the brows, eyelids, and midface.

Surgical treatments include blepharoplasty, cosmetic eyelid surgery, dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR), entropion/ectropion repair, brow lifts, and reconstructive eyelid surgery.

Nonsurgical cosmetic enhancements such as Botox and dermal fillers such as Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm, and Belotero are offered.

Since such treatments can affects one’s ability to see, ophthalmic plastic surgeons are best qualified to perform this work and also provide any care that the eye itself may need.
